 Screening of  the film “Gold Medal Da Dahej” based on a story from Avinash Rai Khanna’s book “Samaj Chintan” directed by Ashok Puri under the banner of SRI GRACA Films, was held today at the auditorium of local DAV College of Education. Chief Guest Dr. Amrit Sagar Mittal, Vice Chairman of Sonalika Group, Special Guest Avinash Rai Khanna , Principal Dr. Vidhi Bhalla, and the film’s director Ashok Puri graced the occasion.

Before the screening of the film, the special guests lit the ceremonial lamp on stage. Following this, Dr. Vidhi Bhalla, Principal of the college, welcomed Dr. Amrit Sagar Mittal, Avinash Rai Khanna, and director Ashok Puri by presenting flower bouquets. On this occasion playback  singers of film Kumar Vinod and Satish Silhi Uppal  established a connection with the audience by singing the song “Fikar Kari Na Tu Baapu” .

Director Ashok Puri said that this film addresses the issues of breaking  joint families and the mentality of dowry in Indian society, all the  artists did justice to their respective roles like role of visually impaired girl by  Nancy Arora, her husband, journalist Ajay Sehdev, mother Kamaljit Kaur, father Amrit Lal, mother-in-law Renuka Rajput and leader by Ashok Puri .  Apart from this, performances of Vineet Atwal, Vicky Walia, Ramesh Kumar, Pawan Singh, and Ashish Puri, in this film were also well appreciated. On this occasion More than 300 students of DAV College of Education watched the film without blinking an eye.  The editor of the film is Naresh S. Garg. Avinash Rai Khanna, the author of the story, congratulated Ashok Puri and his team for their tireless efforts. He said that the portrayal of the story leaves a significant impact on the human mind. He thanked the chief guest, Dr. Amrit Sagar Mittal, for sparing his valuable time . After the screening, Dr. Amrit Sagar Mittal praised Ashok Puri for his portrayal of the role of leader and made his presence felt through the  dialogue of the story “Maa uh akhan di anni ai, akal di anni nai". He announced that Sonalika Group will sponsor all future films based on the subjects of Avinash Rai Khanna’s book “Samaj Chintan” to raise awareness in society. Director Ashok Puri shared that the next film in this series will address the issues of  child kidnapping and child crimes. 

Special thanks were given to Dr. Raman Ghai, Professor Harpreet Singh, Naresh Kumar, Advocate S.P. Rana, industrialist Mukesh Kumar, retired DTO Avtar Singh, and Mrs. Meenakshi Khanna for making this program a huge success.  All the artists were honored with gold medals by SRI GRACA Films. Dr. Vidhi Bhalla Principal and the entire staff  of DAV College of Education felicitated the Chief Guest Dr. Amrit Sagar Mittal, Avinash Rai Khanna, and Director Ashok Puri by  presenting mementos.
