Demands CBI Probe into AAP MLA’s Role in Truck Unions
Development of Muktsar is a Top Priority for BJP: Chugh
Muktsar/Chandigarh, March 2:
BJP National General Secretary Tarun Chugh today demanded a CBI investigation into the suicide attempt by truck union leader Manjit Singh Kaka and the alleged involvement of AAP MLA Narinder Kaur Bharaj in the incident.
In a statement, Chugh highlighted that this incident has once again exposed the failure of law and order in Punjab and the alleged corrupt practices of the AAP MLAs.
While demanding that a case of abetment to suicide be registered against the AAP MLA, Chugh expressed regret that the interference from the Chief Minister’s office has prevented the Punjab police from taking action thus far.
Chugh criticized the deteriorating law and order situation in Punjab. Answering questions, he remarked that the Punjab government should release a white paper on the declining groundwater levels rather than merely passing resolutions in the state assembly against central agricultural policies.
In discussions with media persons, Chugh stated that the Bhagwant Mann government has dismally failed to protect the interests of farmers in the state. Citing the example of Haryana, where MSP is given to two dozen crops, he noted that in Punjab, the AAP government has failed to fulfill any of the promises made before the elections. According to Chugh, the Bhagwant Mann government is only paying lip service to farmers and deceiving the entire state on the issue.
Chugh assured the people of Muktsar that all development projects related to health and rail would soon be fulfilled. He mentioned that he would soon arrange for delegations from Muktsar to meet with Union ministers regarding these matters
