 Deputy Commissioner forms panel of officers, will review development projects from time to time

Efforts will be made for smooth traffic in the district

Deputy Commissioner Ashika Jain has formed a panel of officers of the concerned departments to periodically review the progress of ongoing and potential development projects in the district.

Deputy Commissioner Ashika Jain said that various development works related to the central and state governments are going on in the district and many are going to start in the near future, which will be monitored by a panel formed by the district administration so that these infrastructure projects can be started on time and completed within the stipulated time. She said that these projects mainly involve development works related to the Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, Railways and various departments of the Punjab Government. She said that a panel has been formed under the leadership of the Additional Deputy Commissioner to review these works, in which the concerned SDMs, Municipal Commissioners and officers of the concerned departments have been included, who will ensure the progress and follow-up of the development works of their respective areas.

Deputy Commissioner Ashika Jain said that smooth traffic management in the district is the main priority of the administration and the panel will finalize the blueprint for smooth traffic by liaising with various departments. She said that the panel will prepare the Talwara-Mukherian railway line project and the outline for easy traffic from railway crossings in the district and take further action. She said that the district administration has also placed the matter of widening the Hoshiarpur-Garhshankar road with the Punjab government as per the current demand so that this project can also be started as soon as possible. She informed that the necessary action is also in progress regarding various works related to road network infrastructure in Tanda area, Hoshiarpur-Garhshankar Road, Hoshiarpur-Una Road etc. She informed that the constituted panel will ensure the review of the necessary process for these works from time to time.
