Mahilpur police recovered 45 grams of narcotics and 55 narcotic pills during a special blockade at various places.

As per the directions of Punjab government, a special drive has been launched to control miscreants and drug smugglers. On the directions of SSP Sandeep Kumar Malik IPS, Major Singh SP/PBI and Jaspreet Singh DSP Garhshankar, teams formed under the leadership of Inspector Rajinder Singh in charge of Police Station Mahilpur, in which SI Ramandeep Kaur along with police party had set up a special blockade at Kalewal Fattu T-point. During this, on seeing the police party, a youth took out a heavy black waxy envelope from his right pocket and threw it on the roadside. He was caught by the police party and his name and address were asked. He told his name as Suchha Singh alias Suchha son of Pal Singh resident of Meghowal. The black wax envelope thrown on the road was searched, from which 45 grams of narcotic substance was recovered. Police have registered a case against the said youth under section 22-61-85 NDPS Act Mahilpur. Similarly, when ASI Gurnek Singh of police station Mahilpur reached Cho Bridge of Tuto Mazara GT Road with his police party, a person was coming on foot from the other side of the road towards Mahilpur. Seeing the police party, he turned towards the road. He took out a white envelope from the left pocket of his jacket and threw it. On the basis of suspicion, the said person was caught and when his name and address were asked, he told his name as Lovepreet Kumar son of Subhash Chandra resident of Bora. On examining the envelope thrown in the drain, a total of 55 empty narcotic pills were recovered from it, on which the police registered a case against the above person. A case has been registered under 22-61-85 NDPS Act and action has been initiated.
