 MLA Bram Shanker Jimpa urges Centre for immediate repair of Hoshiarpur-Una Highway

 

·       Writes to Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari

·       Says NHAI to check dilapidated stretches of road and take immediate action

 Taking stock of broken stretches of Hoshiarpur-Una National Highway, local MLA Bram Shanker Jimpa on Monday urged the Centre Government to ensure safe movement of commuters and vehicles on this highway as the condition of several stretches are in bad shape. He also pointed out that the officials of National Highways Authority of India must visit the highway without any further delay so that requisite repair could be initiated.

          MLA Jimpa along with civil and PWD officials inspected the Una Highway at Vankhnadi, where the road was broken at various places besides having no roadside berms.

          Expressing concerns over the plight of highway, Bram Shanker Jimpa also wrote a letter to Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari soliciting his intervention so that the repair could be done without any delay. He also pointed out that there would be heavy vehicular volume in view of religious congregations at Baba Balak Nath and Hola Mohalla for which this highway was the one of the major route. He also underlined that there were 100 to 200 meter deep gorges on this route, where the mishaps could happen in dure to broken berms and road stretches so immediate repair was call of the day. The MLA mentioned that thousands of people from Punjab and Himachal Pradesh were visiting both states so the NHAI should take necessary steps in view of safe and secure movement of people.

          Urging for requisite action on this matter, Bram Shanker Jimpa the repair would be immensely beneficial for people besides providing major relief to daily commuters. ADC (D) Nikas Kumar and other officials were also present during the visit.
