 PAU-Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Hoshiarpur organizes awareness camp on fermented organic manures

An awareness programme on fermented organic manures was organized by PAU-Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Bahowal, Hoshiarpur at village Muggowal on 18.3.2025.

Dr. Parminder Singh, Associate Professor (Animal Science), PAU-KVK, Hoshiarpur extended a cordial welcome to the farmers & farmwomen and outlined the different activities of KVK Hoshiarpur for the welfare of the farming community. Dr. Parminder sensitized the participants regarding the use of fermented organic manure in the cultivation of field crops to reduce dependence on synthetic fertilisers. He said that its use will aid in reducing environmental pollution, improving soil structure, soil fertility and provide important nutrients such as nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium and other micronutrients required for the growth of different crops.

Experts from PAU-KVK Hoshiarpur, Dr. Ajaib Singh, Assistant Professor (Agricultural Engineering) and Dr. Karmvir Singh Garcha, Assistant Professor (Vegetable Science), guided the farmers on value addition & processing of agricultural produce, conservation of natural resources, integrated nutrition gardening and natural farming.

Sh. Manoj Kumar Sachdeva, Sales Manager of Sampuran Agri Ventures Pvt. Ltd., Fazilka also interacted with participants regarding the use of fermented organic manures.

The farmers were also provided PAU literature and summer vegetable kits during the camp.
