 PAU-KVK HOSHIARPUR ORGANIZES AWARENESS CAMP ON POULTRY FARMING

PAU-Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Hoshiarpur organized an awareness programme on poultry farming under the aegis of National Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Ludhiana Chapter at its premises on 21-1-2025.

Dr Parminder Singh, Associate Professor of Animal Science delivered insightful lectures on Poultry farming as a subsidiary occupation. The session covered topics such as   various breeds, brooding of chicks, management of chicks during winter & summer, housing & equipment, feeding arrangements, marketing and poultry diseases & its prevention.

While interacting with the participants, Dr. Maninder Singh Bons, Associate Director (Training), Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Bahowal, Hoshiarpur sensitized them about the services rendered by KVK for the betterment of the farming community and guided regarding career opportunities in Agriculture.

Certificates were also provided to the trainees of last month’s dairy farming vocational training course on this occasion

After the camp, the participants visited the poultry unit at KVK to gain hands-on knowledge, aimed at providing practical insights to enhanced their livelihood through sustainable poultry farming practices.
