Rayat Bahra College of Law Hosts Special Seminar on Constitutional Laws

Rayat Bahra College of Law organized a special seminar on constitutional laws, led by Prof. (Dr.) Ratan Singh from Panjab University, Chandigarh. Students from the fourth, sixth, eighth, and tenth semesters of the B.A. LL.B. (Honors) program participated in the seminar.
College Principal Dr. R. N. Singh welcomed Prof. (Dr.) Ratan Singh and emphasized the importance of understanding constitutional laws. He stated that such sessions help students gain in-depth knowledge of the judiciary and various constitutional provisions.
During the seminar, detailed discussions were held on the Supreme Court, human rights, Article 21, and the constitutional amendment process. Prof. (Dr.) Ratan Singh explained the Basic Structure Doctrine in simple terms and highlighted its role in safeguarding the Constitution. He also elaborated on the significance of the judiciary in democracy by citing landmark Supreme Court judgments.
The session witnessed active participation from students, who engaged in discussions and raised their queries. In conclusion, College Department Head Dr. Priyanka Puri expressed gratitude to Prof. (Dr.) Ratan Singh and encouraged students to understand their role in upholding the Constitution and democracy.
