 Rayat Bahra Paramedical Sciences Department Organized AIDS Awareness Program

- Students should gain maximum knowledge about AIDS and contribute to spreading awareness in society –              Dr. Sukhmeet Bedi

The Paramedical Sciences Department of Rayat Bahra Management College organized an AIDS awareness program in collaboration with NGO "Shaan." Held under the guidance of Principal Dr. Harinder Singh Gill and Department Head Dr. Sukhmeet Kaur Bedi, the event aimed to educate students about HIV/AIDS, its transmission, prevention, and misconceptions.

The program began with a welcome speech by Dr. Sukhmeet  Bedi, who emphasized the importance of AIDS awareness and appreciated the efforts of NGO Shaan. She stated that spreading awareness about a serious disease like AIDS is a social responsibility and urged students to acquire more knowledge on the subject and actively participate in spreading awareness.

Project Manager Aarti Thakur highlighted the activities and objectives of the NGO, stating that their organization has been consistently working in this field. The keynote speaker, Advocate Manoj Nagpal, provided insights into the legal rights, confidentiality, anti-discrimination laws, and government policies related to HIV/AIDS. He stressed the need for society to be more sensitive toward affected individuals to ensure equal opportunities in education and employment. Additionally, he discussed the scientific aspects of transmission, preventive measures, and safe health practices. Students actively participated in the awareness session, asking questions and clearing their doubts with the experts.

At the conclusion of the program, Dr. Sukhmeet Bedi expressed gratitude to NGO Shaan, the guests, students, and faculty members.

On this occasion, Prof. Aditi, Prof. Saqib, Prof. Irshad, Prof. Akash, Prof. Masroor, Prof. Mudassar, Prof. Humaira, along with Tarlok Singh, Rajni, Arjun, Harjinder, and several other students and faculty members, were present.
