Dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the children's literature magazine 'Nikkian Karumbalan', which is registered in the India Book of Records, Nikkiab Karumbalan Publications Mahilpur in collaboration with the Post Graduate Punjabi Department of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Khalsa College Mahilpur organized the annual Nikkian Karumbalan Award Distribution Ceremony at the Gadri Baba Harjap Singh Convention Hall of Khalsa College. Dedicated to the late children's literature writers Prof. Sarwan Ram Bhatia and Pammi Khushalpuri, this program was enthusiastically attended by eminent personalities and students from the fields of literature, art, culture and education. At the beginning of the ceremony, students sang shabads under the leadership of the college's music department head Dr. Kuldeep Singh. On this occasion, Deputy Speaker of Punjab Assembly and MLA Jai Krishan Singh Rouri, who was present as the chief guest, congratulated the main organizer Baljinder Mann for organizing such a program promoting children's literature and donated Rs 50,000 to the trust from his discretionary fund. On this occasion, Principal of Khalsa College Mahilpur, Dr. Parwinder Singh delivered the welcome address and appreciated the work being done in the field of children's literature by the officials of Karumbalan Trust including Baljinder Mann. Sahitya Akademi Award winning writer Manmohan Singh Daau, S. Kulwant Singh Sangha, Prof. Apinder Singh Mahilpuri, Balveer Singh Sewak, Shavinderjit Singh Bains, SP Roshanjit Panam, Amandeep Bains participated in the presidium of the function and in their address congratulated Editor Baljinder Mann for the continuity of Nikkian Karumbalan magazine. Incharge of Punjabi Department, Dr. J.B. Sekhon expressed his views on the contribution of Nikkian Karumbalan in the context of the history of children's literature and the current status of Punjabi children's literature. On this occasion, the organizers led by Baljinder Mann honoured five children's literature writers Hardev Singh Bhullar Ferozepur, Mandeep Rimpi Ropar, Uma Kamal Talwara, Anju V Ratti Hoshiarpur and Amarpreet Singh Jhita Jalandhar with Mata Bhajan Kaur Memorial Award. Meanwhile, ten school writers and students who won the Giani Harkewal Singh Smriti Sahitya Srujan Competition were felicitated with cash prizes and certificates of appreciation. In the program, Sahitya Akademi and Shiromani Children's Literature Writer and Artist Kamaljit Neelon made the atmosphere lively with his children's songs and received applause from the audience. Prof. Apinder Singh Mahilpuri and Manmohan Singh Dau congratulated Baljinder Mann for this event. Prof. Baldev Singh Balli expressed his gratitude. Artist Ashok Puri conducted the stage brilliantly. On this occasion, the organizers felicitated the dignitaries present.
