A special program was organized by the Youth Sports Welfare Board at Fighter Sports Kartarpur Road Kapurthala. In this program, President of Youth Sports Welfare Board Rajiv Walia and members of his team honored Dr. Amrik Singh (Professor Lyallpur Khalsa College Kapurthala), the technical officer appointed in the World Kabaddi Cup, by giving him flowers and bouquets and wished him. Rajiv Walia said that Dr. Amrik Singh was appointed as the technical officer in the World Kabaddi Cup which was held in England from 17 March 2025 to 23 March 2025 in the UK. In this World Kabaddi Cup, India defeated England and secured the first position and showed that he is a good Kabaddi player. He said that the Youth Sports Welfare Board will always honour and support those who promote sports. Dr. Amrik Singh thanked the President of the Youth Sports Welfare Board Rajiv Walia and his team and said that we all should come forward and support the campaign started by Rajiv Walia for sports. He told that the World Kabaddi Cup was held in UK England and in that Kabaddi Cup, Ashok Das (President World Kabaddi Association) was given the title of Daddy of Kabaddi. He told that Ashok Das took Kabaddi to the whole world with 40 years of hard work and has been organising the British Kabaddi League in England for the last four years. He told that he was welcomed and congratulated on his return to Kapurthala. On this occasion, Santokh Singh Basra, Pratap Singh, Jaspal Singh, Sukhdeep Singh Bajwa, Balwinder Singh, Sanjeev, Awadhesh Kumar, Avneet Kaur Dhaliwal were present.
