Deputy Speaker held a meeting with officials regarding development works

Deputy Speaker of Punjab Assembly Jai Krishan Singh Rouri today took information from the officials of various departments at the local district administrative complex about the progress of development works and welfare schemes. He directed that the pending development works should be completed as soon as possible.

In the presence of Additional Deputy Commissioner Nikas Kumar and other officials, Deputy Speaker Jai Krishan Singh Rouri reviewed the development works going on in the Assembly constituency Garhshankar. He directed the officials to speed up the pace of work so that the public can get full benefit of the schemes. He said that the benefits of government welfare schemes should reach the eligible people smoothly, so that they can take full advantage of these schemes. The Deputy Speaker also took stock of the works of the Rural Development and Panchayat Department and the Water Supply and Sanitation Department. He said that his priority areas include converting every kutcha house into pucca and ensuring uninterrupted water supply.

Deputy Speaker Jai Krishan Singh Rouri directed the officers to prepare a detailed plan of the development works to be undertaken in various villages so that the necessary financial assistance could be released for these works and basic amenities could be provided to the public. He said that the issues related to the border villages should be resolved on priority basis and every basic facility should be made available in these areas. He said that the development goals would be successfully achieved under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, for which cooperation of all sections was necessary.

Apart from the officers of various departments, Chairman Garhshankar Market Committee Baldeep Singh, OSD Charanjit Singh Channi and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.
