- Disabled Persons Welfare Society celebrated its 6th foundation day in the memory of late Jaspal Singh. On this occasion, dance and poetry recitation competitions of Divyang students were organized in PD Arya School, in which Divyang students from four blocks of the city as well as Atam Sukh Atam Dev and Asha Kiran School Jahan Khel participated in the dance and poetry singing competitions. On this occasion, Principal Timatani Ahluwalia PD Arya School welcomed the guests. The program was started by lighting the lamp by Professor Pooja Vashisht, Principal Pallavi Pandit, Principal Timatani Ahluwalia and Dolly Cheema. On this occasion, the Divyang students captivated the audience by showing their unique talent. In the poetry singing competition, Yeswar Government Primary School Railway Mandi Hoshiarpur won first, Roohjit Government Primary School Railway Mandi won second, Vivek Sharma Atam Sukh Atam Dev School won third place. In the solo dance competition, Manveer Singh Government Primary School Manjhi won first, Sahil Singh Government Senior Secondary School Piplanwala won second and Amanjot Government High School Pandori Bibi won third place. In the group dance, Asha Kiran School Jahan Khelan won first, Government High School Kamalpur won second and Government High School Nara won third place. The role of the judge was played by Onkar Singh and Madam Praveen Sharma, the chief guest Parampreet Singh GA to DC and Satish Mahajan MD GSSL distributed prizes to the winners. The role of stage secretary was played by lecturer Priya Saini. On this occasion, Society President Sandeep Sharma, General Secretary Jaswinder Singh Sahota, Secretary Neelam, Cashier Raj Kumar, Garhshankar Tehsil President Jaswinder Singh, Sukhjinder Singh, Rajiv Kumar, Naveen Sharma, Shivani Sharma,prem saini Subhash Chandra, Anju Saini, Nek Chand, Manoj Kumar, Jyotshna Angala, Manjinder, Neelam, Kiran etc. were present.
