 Special Vaccination Camp to be Held in Makhsuspur on Sunday: Dr. Seema Garg

School-going Children, Infants, and Pregnant Women to Benefit

The Health Department of Hoshiarpur is continuously striving to increase vaccination coverage in rural areas of the district. As part of these efforts, a special vaccination camp will be organized on Sunday, April 20, at Village Makhsuspur under Block Mahilpur. The camp is being held under the guidance of Civil Surgeon Dr. Pawan Kumar Shagotra and led by District Immunization Officer Dr. Seema Garg.

Sharing the details, Dr. Seema Garg informed that the camp will begin at 10:00 AM and is especially focused on school-going children who missed their regular vaccinations due to various reasons. “Many children are unable to receive vaccines during school days due to health issues or absence. This camp aims to cover those left out,” she said.

In addition to school children, the camp will also provide immunization to children aged 0 to 5 years and pregnant women. All essential vaccines will be available at the camp, and children will be protected against 11 life-threatening diseases such as polio, diphtheria, tetanus, measles, rubella, and hepatitis B through full immunization.

Dr. Garg appealed to parents and guardians from Makhsuspur and nearby villages to take full advantage of the camp and ensure that their children receive any pending vaccines. “Our aim is to ensure that no child is left out of immunization and that every child gets timely access to life-saving vaccines,” she added.

She also emphasized that parents must bring their child’s immunization card along with a valid identity proof—such as Aadhaar card, voter ID, or driving license—so that the vaccination details can be accurately recorded on the U-WIN app.

Trained health staff will be present at the site, and all necessary precautions and protocols will be strictly followed during the vaccination process. The Health Department has urged the public not to miss this opportunity and to help secure a healthy future for their children.
