Umang Season-7 cultural competition organized in collaboration with Special Olympics India Punjab Chapter, District Special Olympics Association Hoshiarpur, Ashadeep Welfare Society and JSS Asha Kiran Special School Jahankhela continued for the second day today. In this cultural competition organized at James Cambridge International School Jalandhar-Phagwara Bypass, AAP's MP Dr. Raj Kumar Chabbewal, Cabinet Minister Dr. Ravjot Singh, former MP Avinash Rai Khanna and Vice Chairman Red Cross Society India were welcomed by the members of Ashadeep Welfare Society under the leadership of Paramjit Singh Sachdeva. The program started with the guest performance presented by special children and teacher training diploma students. On this occasion, MP Dr. Raj Kumar Chabbewal said that providing opportunities to special children to move ahead in life is a commendable step and for this Asha Kiran School and Ashadeep Welfare Society deserve congratulations. He said that the Punjab Government will provide every kind of help to these special children. On this occasion, Cabinet Minister Dr. Ravjot Singh said that like other children, it is important for special children to get an opportunity to enjoy every aspect of life and Umang Season 7 is providing such a platform to these special children. During this, Avinash Rai Khanna said that special children also have full right to enjoy every aspect of life. On this occasion, Regional Director Paramjit Singh Sachdeva said that about 350 special children from all over the country are participating in this competition, who will be part of 29 teams. A total of 9 programs have been organized in this cultural competition. He said that with the cooperation of Vasal Education Group Chairman Sanjeev Vasal and CEO Raghav Vasal, these competitions for special children are being organized in the auditorium of James Cambridge School. Paramjit Sachdeva said that Special Olympics India Punjab's Sports Director Mandeep Brar, Treasurer Anil Goyal, President Ashok Arora, Advisor Colonel Karaminder Singh and other committee members are giving full support for this event and Ashok Arora and Anil Goyal are sponsoring gifts for the children participating in the competition. Gurukul Dance Studio's Director Himanshu Chawla, Raj Chand Verma and Praveen Sharma are playing the role of judges in this competition. He said that the competitions are being organized in two categories, small and big. 8 children will be part of the team in the small category and 16 children in the big category. The winning teams in both the categories will be given first, second and third prizes of Rs 2 lakh each. On this occasion, Ashadeep Welfare Society President Harbans Singh, Secretary Colonel Gurmeet Singh, CA Taranjit Singh, Malkit Singh Maheru, Mastan Singh Grewal, Lokesh Khanna, Ram Sharma, Ram Asra, Prem Saini, Advocate Harish Chandra Airy, Harish Thakur, Vinod Bhushan, Harmesh Talwar, Balram Jaswal, Principal Shaili Sharma etc were also present.
