District administration has intensified the campaign for the elimination of drug addiction and rehabilitation of victims: Ashika Jain
- Deputy Commissioner appealed to all departments to make collective efforts

Deputy Commissioner Ashika Jain said that under the 'War against drug addiction' campaign, the district administration is working with full seriousness for the treatment and rehabilitation of youth caught in the grip of drug addiction. The role of police, health department and social organizations is very important in this campaign.
She was addressing the review meeting of this campaign being run by various departments in the district administrative complex today. She called upon all the officers to work together with dedication to eradicate the social evil of drug addiction.
The Deputy Commissioner informed that so far 527 contact meetings have been held in the district under this campaign and 970 Village Defense Committees have been formed. She said that these committees can play an important role in anti-drug efforts at the village level.
Ashika Jain appealed to the SDMs were directed to hold regular meetings with the concerned DSPs in their respective areas and further speed up the campaign. She informed that the process of de-addiction through rehabilitation centres by the district administration is also going on at a fast pace. The Deputy Commissioner appealed to all the citizens to support the administration against this social evil and cooperate in building a drug-free society.
On this occasion, Additional Deputy Commissioner Nikas Kumar, SP Major Singh, SDM Garhshankar Harbans Singh, SDM Mukerian Kanwaljit Singh, SDM Hoshiarpur Sanjeev Kumar, SDM Tanda Parampreet Singh, Civil Surgeon Dr. Pawan Kumar and other officers were present.
